Young bird-watchers take great interest in watching various of birds- flamingos, godwits, ducks, plovers, stilts, gulls, raptors, ibises, cormorants and more

Krupa Patil (Team GWT) spends an interactive afternoon with a bunch of young bird-enthusiasts and the newly-launched publication- a ‘bookling’ which is titled- ‘When in Doubt, Try this Out –Plovers and Sandpipers’ created by the GWT team and authored by Bird Expert Nikhil Bhopale.

The GWT team explained the importance of mangroves and wetlands to visitors.

On several occasions, the team STOPPED PEOPLE FROM THROWING WASTE in the creek. Some locals who got inspired on seeing this initiative, assured the GWT team that they will also stop people from throwing waste in the creek.

The exhibition and bird-watching sessions were enjoyed and appreciated by visitors who generously gave their feedback and best wishes to the GWT team.

Reach of the Event

FOOTFALL: Over 800 bird-lovers visited the exhibition in 3 days. Senior citizens, youngsters and kids – everyone enjoyed watching photographs of Wetland Birds.

BIRD-WATCHING SESSION: About 250 visitors enjoyed bird-watching at the near-by Kopri creek. The visitors were guided by the GWT team and were given binoculars, too. In this photo, 3 generations are seen birding together.

MEDIA COVERAGE: With various publications like Hindustan Times, Maharashtra Times, Apla Mahanagar and Loksatta covering this event, GWT reached out to many more bird-lovers through these publications.
